After years in the fashion industry, we saw a need in the market for bags and accessories that were both luxurious and durable. Our emphasis is on quality craftsmanship and an urban minimal aesthetic. Our bags are built to last and have a timeless elegance, in contrast to the trend-driven fashion of the moment. 

Living in Brooklyn opened our eyes to the possibilities of local manufacturing. We were very interested in bringing American-made quality craftsmanship back to life and have successfully incorporated local and Italian making into our story.

Style & Quality

We’ve sourced the finest leathers and hides from around the world to bring you the Canvas & Hyde collection. 

We are meticulous about every aspect of our bags, from the internal rope of the leather handles to the reinforcement used to enhance the leather base. Our hardware is the highest grade nickel plated brass and each of our bags is hand sewn together using premium Gutermann thread. We want to construct bags that are luxuriously elegant but also durable enough to withstand constant use - in other words, a style investment that will stand the test of time as the perfect, efficient lifestyle companion.

Our timeless styles are all hand-constructed in Brooklyn, New York and Florence, Italy working with expert local artisans skilled in the time honored tradition of creating beautiful leather bags.

Each bag is painstakingly assembled by hand from the cutting of the leather to the hand painting of the leather edges. Watching our bags come to life from a sketch to the factory floor is truly rewarding. 

It has been an amazing journey seeking out and developing working relationships with so many small businesses in the conceptualization and creation of Canvas & Hyde.
